After starting the day with Jerod at my folks house, it was day two of drinking and it was officially new years eve. A view from the upper patio of my folks place shows how centrally located they are in the city of Merida. I just love this place. The others are from the party at this wonderful bar called Piedra de Agua. A hotel with a bar in the courtyard and a view of the night sky with the Iglesia in the background, surrounded by the Moon and Venus in the immediate foreground. One of the most awesome little clubs in the city, with an underground lounge which sadly was not open at the time. I will get photos of that before long. What a great time. Awesome to have Jerod in town from Denver, as he and I make perfectly functioning alcoholics. Bummer part is today Im supposed to be at the gulf but I partied myself sick, and now am on amoxicillin and recovering slowly. Booooooooo. I guess thats the price I pay for this decadent lifestyle of irreverent drinking and lushful behavior with little regret.
